Talking travel with Trafalgar in Toronto
Of Trafalgar Canada: Dave Neil, travel director & Wolf Paunic, president.

Toronto-area travel agents and their clients joined Trafalgar Canada last night, taking part in the Toronto stop on the tour operator’s 2016-17 Love To Talk Travel series.

The event provided Trafalgar travellers both new and returning with an overview of the company’s product offerings and trip styles, including an exploration of the Wonders of Britain & Ireland itinerary by Trafalgar Canada’s Travel Director Dave Neil, who showcased the highlights of the two-week tour through the British Isles, featuring visits to iconic sites such as Stonehenge and Buckingham Palace to uniquely U.K. experiences like a visit to the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, Ireland.

Trafalgar Canada President Wolf Paunic told PAX that this year’s Love To Talk Travel series is offering a more interactive approach for attendees (which Neil likened to “the first night of a Trafalgar tour”), including a post-presentation Q&A as well as experiences authentic to Trafalgar itineraries, such as a henna painting station for guests of last night’s talk.

“The format has been changed to really involve and engage our guests and travel agent partners,” Paunic said. ”It’s more about discussion and a collaborative event dedicated to this level of travel beyond just what Trafalgar has to offer.”

Henna painting was among the interactive offerings at last night's Love To Talk Travel event by Trafalgar

Paunic added that the talks have drawn an even split of new and returning Trafalgar clients, and with additions to the itineraries such as the Be My Guest program (in which travellers meet with locals for dinner and unique experiences), clients who have travelled with Trafalgar in the past can expect something completely new.

“The guests are there because they love where there going,” Neil said, “but when you can give them these little things which they don’t know about, whether it’s a piece of local history or a taste of the cuisine, most guests when they travel want a cultural experience and something unique.”

Paunic added that Trafalgar is also reaching out to retail agent partners looking to showcase the tour operator to clients with exclusive Love To Talk Travel events, which can be booked free of charge with a minimum of 20 clients.

The series continues in Barrie, Ontario tonight before breaking for the holidays, after which Trafalgar will resume the events in January. The full schedule by province can be found at lovetotalktravel.com.
