Riviera Nayarit's tourism numbers grow

Meixco's Riviera Nayarit has released its tourism statistics for 2015 and the results are looking up. 

Last year, the luxury destination saw a 5.7 per cent increase in revenue, a four percent increase in occupation, a 9.7 per cent increase in room nights and a 12.97 per cent increase in passengers arriving by air.

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau, which produced the results, credited its marketing strategies and collaborations with the Nayarit State Government and the Banderas Bay, Compostela and San Blas hotel motel associations for the increase in tourism.

The new statistics mirror recent accolades Riviera Nayarit has received within its hotel inventory. The destination is now home to a total of four AAA Five Diamond hotels, one AAA Five Diamond restaurant, five AAA Four Diamond restaurants, 11 AAA Four Diamond hotels, 13 AAA Three Diamond hotels and 26 AAA Three Diamond restaurants.

Riviera Nayarit’s tourism numbers are expect to grow as hotels, including the One&Only Mandarina and W Hotel Punta de Mita, join its accommodation roster, and as new interactive experiences, such as Cirque de Soleil, are added.
