"Stay the course": Lindsay Pearlman on making history as Travel Leaders' first Canadian president
In a significant development for Travel Leaders Network (TLN), Lindsay Pearlman has been named president of the organization following the announced exit of executive John Lovell, who is stepping down at the end of June to join Virgin Voyages as a board member and senior advisor.
The leadership shakeup was announced Tuesday (June 17) just days after TLN’s annual Edge conference concluded at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Pearlman, currently TLN’s senior vice president and chief operating officer, assumes the top title at a time of noteworthy momentum for the organization.
Canadian travel agency sales under TLN have surged 15 per cent over the past year, with projections of 25 to 35 per cent growth in 2026 — signalling a robust future for the network.
“It’s very exciting and a little nerve wracking at the same time,” Pearlman wrote PAX in an email yesterday, reflecting on his promotion. “I’m following in some very large shoes and steering a company that is in a very good place.”

Pearlman’s appointment is notable in more ways than one. “To the best of my knowledge, I am the first Canadian to lead Travel Leaders and I am honoured to do so,” he said. “It’s great to be able to bring a perspective from both sides of the border. It just makes us stronger so it’s great to be part of that.”
He also finds himself in familiar company: TLN’s parent organization, Internova Travel Group, is led by another Canadian, CEO J.D. O’Hara.

Pearlman’s promotion adds to a career built on industry adaptability and mentorship.
Pearlman joined TLN in 2019 to work with international partners and later took on responsibility for managing relationships with associate members. He previously served as co-president of Ensemble Travel Group and held executive roles at American Express.
“The one thing our industry has taught us is that adaptability allows success,” he said. “I believe I’m in a good place to do that as I’ve had some of the best teachers along the way with John Lovell, Roger Block [another past president of TLN] and others. I will lean into that hoping to do right by the position.”
“Stay the course!”
As for what’s next under his leadership, Pearlman said no major changes are planned — continuity and support remain the pillars of his approach.
“We have a great team in place. Members can expect an increase in field support to help them ensure success which we have already been working on. As they go, Travel Leaders goes, so it only makes sense.”
With the busy summer travel season ramping up, Pearlman’s priority is simple: “Stay the course!”
“Regardless of all the noise in the market Canadians continue to travel. Let’s ensure that continues to happen,” he said.

Reflecting on TLN’s recent Edge conference, which drew more than 2,000 travel pros from both Canada and the U.S., he was energized by the strong sense of connection shared among members and partners.
“I was amazed at the enthusiasm and the overall great spirit everyone was in,” he said.
Looking ahead, Pearlman is optimistic as he begins a new chapter.
“I’m very excited and honoured for this opportunity," he said. "I’ve always enjoyed our industry and the amazing people that are in it on both sides of the border. That brings opportunity and continued growth."
