TICO recruiting for Consumer Advisory Council, industry members can apply

Last week, the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) launched recruitment for its Industry Advisory Council (IAC), providing Ontario’s travel industry with a new way to share input on the way travel consumer protection is delivered in the province.

In a news release, TICO says it is now launching the recruitment process for its new Consumer Advisory Council (CAC), which will provide guidance and advice to TICO regarding Ontario’s travel consumer protection laws from a consumer’s perspective.

In addition to recruiting consumer members, there are up to three positions available for industry members whose role is focused on the consumer perspective. 

For example, this could include individuals who oversee customer experience, customer service, complaints or related functions within a travel agency or tour operator. For more information, please click here.

To apply for the CAC

To apply for the CAC, you will need to complete a two-step process:

1.      Complete a brief application form; AND

2.     Email your resume to CACapplications@tico.ca

"If you know of a consumer who would be a good fit for this council, we encourage you to share this information with them. Only short-listed candidates will be contacted for an interview," TICO says. 

The deadline for applications for the CAC is Friday, February 23, 2024 at 4 pm. As a reminder, the deadline for the IAC is one week earlier.

Individuals can only participate on one TICO council, the council says.
