Ontario government to hold consultations on Travel Industry Act review

The Travel Industry Council of Ontario has reminded industry members that the Ontario Government is conducting a comprehensive review of the Travel Industry Act 2002 and Ontario Regulation 26/05, which regulates approximately 2,400 Ontario retail travel agencies and travel wholesalers (tour operators).

The Ontario Government will be holding public consultation sessions throughout Ontario to obtain feedback from all stakeholders.

“TICO encourages all stakeholders to participate in the Ontario Government’s comprehensive review and attend a public consultation session. This is a great opportunity to contribute and provide feedback towards modernizing the consumer protection legislation, strengthen consumer protection and reduce burden on business,” said Richard Smart, TICO president and CEO.

All events are scheduled for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., unless otherwise noted. The schedule for public consultations is as follows:
