Pat Brady joins Sunwing Vacations Group as director, commercial operations

Travel pro Pat Brady is starting a new chapter as director of commercial operations at Sunwing Vacations Group.

Brady, who previously worked at Transat for 30 years, announced the news on her LinkedIn account on Wednesday (April 16).

“This opportunity comes at a particularly exciting time as the group is integrating two of Canada’s leading travel companies, among others, under one dynamic organization,” Brady wrote, referring to WestJet’s acquisition of Sunwing, a merger that is in the final stages of being completed.  

“I’m honoured to be part of this transformation and excited for what lies ahead. Grateful for the journey so far and the incredible people who’ve supported me along the way — your encouragement has meant so much.”

The WestJet Group completed its acquisition of Sunwing Airlines and Sunwing Vacations in 2023. By doing so, the group is aiming to increase its footprint in the Canadian leisure market.

The deal has led to the formation of the Sunwing Vacations Group, a vacation division of the WestJet Group.

The group encompasses Sunwing Vacations and WestJet Vacations, U.S. tour operator Vacation Express, travel retail businesses SellOffVacations.com and Luxe Destination Weddings. WestJet Vacations Quebec also launched last year.

On the airline side (and as previously reported), WestJet is consolidating Sunwing Airlines’ 737 aircraft with that of its mainline.

As of May 29, 2025, all customers who booked a package with Sunwing Vacations or WestJet Vacations will travel on aircraft operated by WestJet Airlines.
