One day in Walt's World

Magic Kingdom. Some say you can't do it all in one day, but when you're on location and determined to squeeze in the entirety of Walt Disney World (Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs and Disney's Animal Kingdom in this case) into three days, it certainly can be done. All it takes is a little faith, trust, and pixie dust.

Today, it was all about exploring the World, from Cinderella's Castle to Tomorrowland, and the ways in which Disney's MyMagic+ technology can assist and enhance the guest experience. In order to truly accomplish this, I found that setting aside itineraries, best laid plans - and most importantly, expectations - was key to letting the park work its magic.

Truth be told, it wasn't hard. Anyone who has been to Disney Parks knows how well laid out the properties are, and how carefully the needs of its guests are considered. Due to the flexibility allowed by the MagicBands and MyDisneyExperience.com, planners can map out their vacation in its entirety, while the breezier travellers among us can play things by ear and still have a fabulous day.

I opted for a mix of the two, using MyDisneyExperience.com to scope out potential not-to-miss moments and build up anticipation, and the carefree, accommodating (not to mention contagious) nature of Magic Kingdom to simply "let it go" and embrace the World around me.

Take a look at some of the highlights:

Minnie greeted us at the gate as we entered the park, decorated for the Halloween season

We enjoyed breakfast in Be Our Guest, a restaurant inspired by the ballroom from Beauty and the Beast. There was even a forbidden West Wing!

It's not a true blue Disney experience without a spin on the Mad Tea Party.

We were taking a photo of the iconic Cinderella's Castle when the streets came alive with the Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! parade. Guests are encouraged to dance & shake, too.

At the recommendation of a long-time Disney fan, we ate dinner at the California Grill, located in Disney's Contemporary Hotel. Fine dining with a view - and, apparently, an excellent place to view the fireworks.

Preparing for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party - a themed event where guests take their costumes very, very seriously (we're two of the three bears).

Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade features all the Disney character favourites (and some villains you love to hate), and some spectacular choreography.

Part of the seasonal festivities, the night was capped off with the Happy HalloWishes Fireworks.

Check back in on Monday for full coverage of my on-location Disney experience, as well as some industry insight provided by Disney's own Marlie Morrison, managing director, marketing & sales, The Walt Disney Company (Canada) Ltd., Parks & Resorts.
