Air Transat launches Staria rewards program for flights, vacation packages
(Air Transat)

Air Transat has launched Staria, a consumer rewards program that allows members to earn points toward flights and vacation packages, pool points with family and friends, and unlock travel perks.

Announced Nov. 2, the program is aimed at both occasional and frequent leisure travellers. Members can redeem points toward part or all of an eligible Air Transat flight or Transat vacation package, excluding taxes and airport fees.

The launch also sets the stage for credit cards from Desjardins and Visa, expected later in 2027, that will allow members to earn Staria points on everyday purchases and receive additional benefits. Details will be announced when the cards launch.

“With Staria, we want to give our customers even more reasons to choose Air Transat and to keep travelling with us,” Annick Guérard, president and chief executive officer of Transat, said.

“Designed specifically for leisure travel, the program will help us better understand their preferences, further personalize their experience and, with our partners, offer more ways to earn and redeem points. Staria is also a key driver of growth and revenue diversification for Transat.”

Points, perks and pooling

Staria has three components: points earned on eligible purchases, stars collected through interactive activities and groups called “constellations” that allow members to pool points.

Members can use points toward eligible flights and vacation packages. Separately, stars unlock rewards such as seat selection, a meal from the onboard Bistro menu or bonus points on a future purchase.

Up to nine members can join a constellation, combining their points into a single balance to redeem toward travel.

Transat says additional partners will gradually join the program, expanding opportunities to earn points.

“The joy of travel starts long before departure. It's in the destinations we dream about, the plans we share and the little details that make the experience more enjoyable,” Garcí Iñigo, vice-president of marketing and loyalty at Transat, said.

“Rewards give people a reason to join; and the joy of participating is what keeps them coming back. Our ambition is to build a brand that inspires travel dreams, not just transactions.”

Staria is now open for enrolment. Program details and terms and conditions are available at airtransat.com and transat.com.

In the meantime, PAX reached out to Air Transat to ask if clients can earn Staria points on agency bookings, and what it all means for advisors. Stay tuned for more.
