"Travel agents are essential to our industry": Manulife launches enhanced platform to support trade
Manulife Canada has rolled out a new platform built exclusively for travel advisors, designed to simplify the process of providing insurance solutions to their clients.
The platform features upgraded tools and advanced technology that will continually adapt to meet the changing needs of both travel professionals and travellers.
"As a leader in the travel insurance industry, we're continuously working to improve agent and customer experience. We're thrilled to introduce this advanced system, which is an exciting step forward in our journey to innovate and simplify insurance solutions for both agents and travellers," said Pamela Wong, head of travel insurance and general manager, affinity at Manulife Canada, in a press release.
"Travel agents are essential to our industry, and we're dedicated to equipping them with the tools they depend on. With this new system, we're empowering professionals to confidently offer the travel insurance solutions their clients expect, helping create an easy and well-rounded travel planning experience."
Given recent global disruptions, more travellers are viewing insurance as an essential part of trip planning, the company said.
Travel agents remain a key resource, helping customers understand their options and choose the coverage that best suits their needs.
Manulife’s new platform is built to streamline the process for agents, offering features and benefits that make adoption easy and intuitive.
With advanced tools and resources at their fingertips, agents can better support their clients while growing their own success.
The new platform brings key enhancements. Among them is the introduction of expanded product options, including the Non-Medical Premium Protection Plan—designed for travellers who want comprehensive trip protection without paying for additional medical coverage.
To make the process easier, the platform features a Product Selector Tool that helps agents and their clients quickly find the right insurance plan for their needs.
It also offers automated engagement capabilities, allowing agents to send timely protection reminders right up to the trip’s departure date, ensuring travellers have the coverage they need when they need it most.
"This new system is designed with travel professionals in mind, providing them with intuitive tools and the ability to easily follow up with customers," stated Jennifer Waver, head of travel distribution at Manulife Canada. "These enhancements not only streamline the insurance selection process but also ensure that travellers receive timely and comprehensive coverage, enhancing their overall experience with Manulife."
Partner agencies have already begun transitioning to the new platform, the company said.
