Canada eases travel advisories for Jordan & UAE

The Canadian government has eased its travel advisories for Jordan and the United Arab Emirates as regional tensions subside.

In the early days of the conflict between the U.S., Israel and Iran, Global Affairs Canada raised its travel advisory for Jordan to Orange (Level 3), advising Canadians to avoid all non-essential travel.

The UAE was also placed under an Orange (Level 3) advisory before being escalated to Red (Level 4), with Canadians advised to avoid all travel.

Now, Global Affairs Canada has lowered the advisory for both countries to Yellow (Level 2), meaning travellers should exercise a high degree of caution.

However, Ottawa continues to advise against travel to certain parts of Jordan.

A Red (Level 4) advisory remains in effect for areas within five kilometres of the borders with Iraq and Syria, as well as northeastern Jordan.

The federal government also cautions that the security situation across the Middle East remains unpredictable and could deteriorate with little warning.

“Prepare contingency plans that don't rely on the Government of Canada's assistance for departure,” reads a notice.

Tour ops return to Jordan 

The updated travel advice comes as tour operators return to Jordan after a temporary pause.

As previously reported, G Adventures will resume operations in the ancient destination as of August 1, 2026.

“We have been safely operating tours in Egypt since March 23, 2026 and have the utmost confidence that we will continue to do so in Jordan,” the company said in a statement.

Intrepid also plans to restart trips to Jordan later this month while Exodus Adventure is resuming its trips from July.
