They came from near and far and brought the noise.

Air Canada Vacations (ACV) hosted the Halifax edition of its 2024 Dream Makers winter launch event on Tuesday (Sept. 17), welcoming a crowd of more than 300 travel advisors to Cedar Event Centre.

ACV’s Judy Munden, an area sales manager for Atlantic Canada, was blown away by the energy that her territory brought to the night.

“Our fantastic East Coast agents truly impressed us,” said Munden in a statement to PAX. “We had agents that travelled from Fredericton, Moncton, Sydney, and Yarmouth. One agent even flew in from St. John's, NL, just to be part of it. Their enthusiasm was truly inspiring!”

Munden added that she was grateful for the dedication local agents showed in creating “unforgettable experiences” for their clients by taking time to learn about ACV’s winter offer.

After attending the event, Erminia Gallina, director of sales at ACV, gave Halifax a shoutout on social media for raising the roof.

“Halifax…oh what a night. The crowd keeps getting louder and louder and #AirCanadaVacations keeps getting prouder and prouder,” Gallina wrote on her LinkedIn page.

Winter is coming

As PAX previously reported, ACV’s winter roster features more than 100 daily departures, includes a return to popular sun spots, along with increased frequency and capacity, to dreamy places like Bermuda, Fort-de-France, Cancun, Los Cabos, Tulum, Punta Cana, Saint Martin/ Sint Maarten, Turks and Caicos, and San José, Costa Rica.

In a recent interview, Nino Montagnese, vice-president at ACV, said the tour operator is preparing for winter with new products, like tours in Australia and Asia, and self-help technology, like a new Group Quoting Tool for the trade.

Tulum, Montagnese added, is going to be a “hot” destination this winter now that Air Canada flies there direct (the destination opened new airport, Felipe Carrillo Puerto International, earlier this year).

It’s all documented in ACV’s new sun toolkit, which offers a glimpse at all of ACV’s hotels and tours at a glance.

The team also reviewed ACV’s self-help tools, like Trip Book or the Manage My Booking function, which allows agents to modify bookings up to five days prior to departure. Like having the ability to correct the spelling of a name, if required.

ACV has also added CareFlex to the tool. Now, agents can add Care products themselves – up to 48 hours after the initial booking is made.

“We want everyone to dream bigger and see the world with our wide range of product offerings with new sun destinations like Tulum, Colombia and enhanced destinations around the world, including Europe, Asia, Australia and Dubai, just to name a few!” Munden said. “All made possible with our connectors from 60 Canadian gateways.”

ACV’s Dream Makers heads to Montreal (Sept. 19) and Toronto (Sept. 26) next. Stay tuned!
