On Location: “Truly inspiring”: ACV’s 50th anniversary party heads to Cancun, Mexico

Air Canada Vacations (ACV’s) “Celebration Under the Sun” – its 50th anniversary party – kicks off in Cancun, Mexico today (Nov. 4), bringing together an all-star guest list of travel advisors, supplier partners and media.

The “Golden” event, which includes two chartered flights, began Tuesday morning with festivities at airports in Toronto (YYZ), Montreal (YUL), and Vancouver (YVR).

PAX is among the esteemed media covering the big beach bash, which celebrates ACV’s five decades of innovation, growth, and collaboration – and the partnerships that made it all possible.

“We’re thrilled by the overwhelming response to our 50th anniversary celebration under the sun,” said Nino Montagnese, vice president at ACV.  “With over 700 registrations from travel partners nationwide, we’ve filled two full chartered flights from Toronto and Montreal, along with a dedicated group from Vancouver.”

The level of enthusiasm highlights “the strong connections within Canada’s travel community and our shared commitment to growth, collaboration, and inspiring experiences,” Montagnese said.

“We look forward to welcoming our guests in Cancun for exciting days of learning, networking, and celebration—making this milestone event one to remember.”

Nine unique resorts

The fun-filled affair, on until Nov. 7, will unfold across Mexico’s Riviera Maya region, offering days of connection, learning, and celebration.

Attendees will be hosted across nine unique resorts: Hotel Xcaret Arte, Paradisus La Perla, Dreams Natura Resort & Spa, Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen, Bahia Principe Grand Tulum, Hilton Cancun All-Inclusive, Grand Palladium Kantenah, Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres, and Mahekal Beach Resort.

Attendees will participate in training sessions, presentations, and site inspections, and work with local operators, such as World to Meet (Destination Transfer & Services Company) and the Consejo de Promoción Turística de Quintana Roo (CPTQ).

It all leads up to a “Grand Celebration” at ultra-luxe Grand Velas Riviera Maya, which will host a trade show featuring more than 40 suppliers, a beachside gala dinner, live entertainment, and dancing under the stars – all inspired by an elegant red, black, white and gold theme.
