AmaWaterways releases 2016-17 Africa brochure
AmaWaterways has debuted its 2016-2017 Africa brochure, bringing back the popular Discover Africa itinerary while enhancing its line-up of land programs.
AmaWaterways’ Africa experiences range from 10 to 19 days, offering game drives, a visit to the legendary Victoria Falls and stays at luxurious safari lodges. Guests that make their way to Cape Town can now visit two picturesque wineries and enjoy a scenic drive through the local wine country, or have the option to join a Robben Island guided tour and explore Cape Town’s diverse and bustling neighborhoods.
Another new addition to the 2016 and 2017 program is an optional two-night post-cruise extension in Johannesburg as part of the Discover Africa itinerary, which includes exploration in the township of Soweto, visiting the former home of Nelson Mandela.
The 28-passenger Zambezi Queen features an open-air pool deck where travelers can relax with 360-degree views of the Chobe River and its daily visitors, including the largest concentration of elephants in Africa. Passengers will enjoy private balconies and spacious and airy staterooms, as well as an enclosed, air-conditioned dining room, lounge and bar. The environmentally-responsible “eco-ship” uses a jet propulsion system that causes no damage to the river bed, and uses a solar heating system to provided guests with hot water.
