Softvoyage outage resolved; “We’ve got you covered,” says ACV
(Air Canada Vacations)

Softvoyage’s booking platform experienced a temporary outage Tuesday night (Sept. 15), disrupting systems used by travel advisors and major Canadian tour operators.

The technical issue reportedly affected SIREV as well as Softvoyage’s B2C API, which connects with Canada’s major tour operators.

PAX received confirmation from Softvoyage shortly after 7 p.m. EST Tuesday that the outage had been resolved.

Air Canada Vacations (ACV) was among the tour operators that acknowledged the disruption on social media, posting an update to its “Inner Circle” Facebook group for travel advisors as the issue unfolded.

“We are fully aware of the technical issues currently impacting Softvoyage and want to reassure our travel advisor partners that we are actively working with their team to receive the latest updates,” ACV stated.

"Don't be alarmed"

At the time of its update late Tuesday, the ACV team said Softvoyage’s network was operational, although some functions were still coming back online.

The tour operator also sought to reassure advisors concerned about approaching final payment deadlines.

“Please don’t be alarmed…We will allow payments to be processed once the system is fully up and running, ensuring there is no risk to your bookings,” ACV stated.

The tour operator said it was also closely monitoring Options.

“If a payment was not applied and an Option is automatically cancelled, we’ve got you covered,” the company stated. “Our team will pull the necessary reports, identify affected bookings, and proactively reach out to customers to reinstate bookings where possible.”

Responding to an emailed question from PAX, Dan Langevin, chief commercial officer at Softvoyage, confirmed that the outage was not the result of a cyberattack.

Langevin said full details about what caused the disruption would be shared Wednesday (Sept. 16).

PAX will post an update once more information is received.
