Roger Block will step down as president of Travel Leaders Network (TLN) at the end of the year and become a senior advisor in the organization, according to a notice circulated Thursday (May 23).

The change will take effect Dec. 31, 2024, and then on Jan. 1, 2025, Block will “start the next phase” of his life and advise TLN on “long-term strategy.”

“The time is simply right for me to start the next phase of my life and pursue some things I’ve wanted to do,” said Block, who has served as TLN’s president for more than 16 years, in a statement.

“I love to spend time travelling, and that will definitely be in my future. I’ll be filling my time with numerous activities in addition to working with the TLN leadership team in an advisory role and helping shape their future success.”

While at TLN, Block helped thousands of travel agencies grow their sales. He also played a role in merging U.S.-based Travel Leaders Associates, Results Travel and Vacation.com into the network.

“Everyone in the travel industry owes a debt of gratitude to Roger,” said John Lovell, president of Travel Leaders Group, in a statement. “He cares deeply about travel advisors, and developing them as a sales channel. He’s beloved among TLN members and staff, and I am thrilled that he will continue to work in the company and aid in the transition.”

Block previously held leadership roles at Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Travel Agent International.
