Krista Rothfuchs departs Air Canada Vacations, joins Exodus as BDM
A well-known face in the Canadian travel industry who has helped pioneer support for home-based travel advisors is starting a new chapter in her career.
Krista Rothfuchs, known for her work at Air Canada Vacations, is now a business development manager at Exodus Adventure Travels. Her official start date is today (Monday, June 10).
Speaking with PAX, Rothfuchs said she was drawn to the opportunity at Exodus for a number of reasons.
“I personally enjoy planning vacations to destinations I've never been to and places that I'm curious about exploring,” Rothfuchs said. “Exodus offers tours in over 90 different countries – they quite literally offer the world when it comes to touring! There is such an abundance of exciting products in their portfolio.”
“I also love that Exodus tours are meant to bring you to the heart of the destination, to take care of that destination, and to protect its people and environment as you experience it and travel through. They are an established company, trusted, well respected and with 50 years in business, and I am delighted to be able to join their team.”
In her new role, Rothfuchs will cover the Ontario and Manitoba regions as a BDM, supporting the travel agency community in those provinces while “sharing all of the incredible product Exodus has to offer.”
Rothfuchs is no stranger to the tour operator world. She worked at Air Canada Vacations for nearly 12 years, and before that, she was at Transat. She started her travel career in 2004, working at Marlin Travel.
In recent years, Rothfuchs was instrumental in the launch of ACV@Home, a program that provides targeted support for independent travel advisors.
Helping build ACV@Home, which launched in 2023, “was most definitely the biggest success story I leave behind at ACV,” Rothfuchs said.
“If you know me, you know I have a passion for building support systems and ensuring that independent agents feel appreciated, supported and have access to the tools they need to be successful,” she said.
As she embarks on a new adventure at Exodus, Rothfuchs said she will “always keep the Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations’ brands close to my heart.”
“I have and always will be a loyal fan and customer of the company, their dedication to their customers and the quality of product they provide,” Rothfuchs told PAX.
What is she looking forward to the most at Exodus?
“I'm excited to establish a greater awareness of Exodus and help them be successful in my region and across Canada,” Rothfuchs said. “I look forward to hearing from agents about how much their customers (or themselves) enjoy travelling with us. And I look forward to being able to experience it myself – and with agents, of course!”
