Jordon McGrowder joins Unique Vacations Canada as BDM, Alberta, Manitoba & NWT

Unique Vacations Canada, the sales and marketing arm of Sandals and Beaches Resorts, is welcoming a new member to its sales force.

In a press release Monday (Oct. 2), Maureen Barnes-Smith, VP, sales and marketing Canada at Unique Vacations Canada announced the appointment of Jordon McGrowder to the position of business development manager for Alberta, Manitoba and Northwest Territories, effective immediately.

Based in Calgary, McGrowder takes the reins from Donné Nixon, who previously served in the role for five years before relocating to Toronto to assume a new position as Human Resources Manager based in the Unique Vacations Canada corporate office.

“With his extensive and proven experience in customer service, marketing and promotions in a number of sectors, including travel and tourism, Jordon is well suited to help travel advisors in his region grow their business with Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts,” the company stated.

A proud Jamaican and a graduate of the University of West Indies, McGrowder migrated to Canada to complete his post-graduate education at Seneca College in Toronto.

“Jordon’s energy, enthusiasm and passion for the travel industry make him the perfect fit as the newest member of the Unique Vacations Canada sales team…I’m excited to watch him excel in this new role,” said Barnes-Smith. “Western Canada has long been an important market for Sandals and Beaches Resorts – we’ve had consistent in-market sales representation long before any other Caribbean resort company did – and now with Jordon working alongside the veteran presence of Winston Chang in Vancouver, we’re once again fully equipped to support our partners out west.”
