Aaron Crawford joins TravelOnly in sales at GLOW Travel & Events

A familiar face in Canada’s travel industry has made a comeback. 

Aaron Crawford, known for his past roles at WestJet, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Air Canada Vacations, is joining the TravelOnly family as a sales affiliate with GLOW Travel and Events.

Mr. Crawford, who has ten years of industry experience under his belt, joins GLOW after recently stepping into the world of healthcare, working as a frontline worker in support of hospitals and COVID-19 vaccination centres.

“I’m very excited to return to an industry I’ve been passionate about since my first solo trip in 1999 to India,” Crawford told PAX. “It changed my life, but truthfully, I am so grateful to be working in healthcare right know. The intense focus I see around me to stop COVID-19 and get us back to ‘normal’ is inspirational.”

Crawford’s role as an Area Sales Manager at Air Canada Vacations – a position that saw him boost sales and directly assist travel advisors – ended in June 2020.

However: “From the day I left Air Canada Vacations, I knew I’d come back to this industry in one form or another,” he said.

When Amanda Beaver, president of GLOW, reached out to Crawford about joining her team, he jumped at the opportunity.

“Life is all about timing!” said Crawford. “I had already been thinking about how I could come back and remain in healthcare.”

GLOW Travel and Events is a team of experienced travel designers and event planners that specialize in destination weddings, honeymoons and luxury travel. 

The company says it specializes in travel that is "authentic, inspired and experiential," curating tailor-made vacations to suite the uniqueness of each client. 

The company, which celebrates five years with TravelOnly this May, has achieved several awards and accolades, earning a spot in TravelOnly’s prestigious President’s Club for the last two years.  

The agency has been recognized as a Top Seller by Transat and AMResorts and has won TravelOnly’s 2019 Rising Star award.

Crawford, too, is an award winner – the travel pro was recognized as Business Development Manager of the year from TravelOnly in 2020.

Crawford is certain that “we're on the verge of a real travel boom” once COVID-19 restrictions lift and vaccines are more available.

“After only a few months of working in healthcare, I am confident we will be able to put COVID-19 behind us and get people travelling again,” he said. “It might look and feel a bit different, but I believe there’s going to be a lot of pent-up demand for last-minute travel and bucket-list trips.”
