Air Canada Vacations recently gave its top-performing, home-based travel advisors something far better than a virtual pat on the back.

After years of online events, ACV@Home – the company’s program for independent, home-based travel advisors – finally rolled out the red carpet (well, a sandy one) last week, hosting its first-ever "Simply The Best" destination recognition trip at the newly-renovated Paradisus Cancun.

The sun-kissed getaway from June 29 to July 3, which PAX was invited to cover exclusively, celebrated high-performing independent travel advisors with a mix of education, networking, resort tours and just enough poolside downtime to remind everyone why they sell vacations for a living.

The trip had originally been planned for Jamaica in 2025, but an Air Canada labour disruption and Hurricane Melissa, late last year, had other ideas. Cancun, with a splash of Melia, however, proved worth the wait.

At the heart of the event was a simple message: home-based advisors are no longer the industry's side hustle. They're a powerhouse.

Since launching in 2023, ACV@Home has grown to roughly 6,000 advisors across 12 host agencies, offering exclusive training, marketing support and booking tools designed specifically for entrepreneurs building travel businesses from home.

As ACV's Marigold Frontuna, general manager of sales, put it, these advisors are "go-getters" who have taken charge of their own success.

How did the trip play out? What separates a “good” travel advisor from an advisor who’s “simply the best?”

PAX had its cameras rolling at this year’s event. Here, watch our exclusive interview with Air Canada Vacations' Marigold Frontuna – filmed on location!
