A very special edition of PAX magazine

May’s edition of PAX magazine is much bigger than usual… our biggest issue to date, both in French and English, highlighting several important milestones in the travel industry.

This month’s edition is effectively a triple celebration! Yes, triple: as well as entering Travel Agent Month, PAX magazine is marking three years while LogiMonde Media is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

We felt all of this really deserved a very special edition and this month, we aren’t featuring an industry professional for our cover story; instead, the ‘stars’ of the month are spread throughout the magazine.

To celebrate Travel Agent Month, meanwhile, we have decided to give several agents a voice in our magazine. This month, we showcase destinations and hotels through the eyes of travel agents – both in text and photos. The experience was truly enlightening for us.

This month’s Hotel features the hidden gem of the Entremonte Wellness Hotel & Spa, with travel agent Deborah Peniuk giving PAX her view on the idyllic hotel nestled in the lush mountains of Apulo, Colombia.

On the other end of the scale, Robert Townshend of Total Advantage Travel & Tours recalls a thrilling expedition through the Honduran jungle for this month’s Experience.

In this month's Vogue article, meanwhile, a number of travel agents recount some of the most unique experiences they've enjoyed while travelling, with stunning photos and entertaining tales showing that agents really are an adventurous bunch.

For Setting the Stakes, we caught up with Rob Blowes of Blowes Travel and Cruise Centres Inc. to learn the secrets of success of an inspirational family agency that’s been passed through three generations and almost seven decades.

By the way – do you know where the concept of travel agencies came from, and how it evolved over time? We decided to mark Travel Agent Month by tracing the roots of the travel agency, and to take a look at how this profession began.

How fitting it is that the annual celebration of Travel Agent Month takes place at the same time as LogiMonde's 25th anniversary!

After all, our business would simply not exist if travel agents were not there – in fact, everything started for us in a travel agency located in a Jean Coutu pharmacy in Laval. Twenty-five years later, we have never lost sight of the fact that we work for you, developing tools and products to help you in your daily work.

Spanning six pages, we look back over our quarter-century, marked notably by the vision of the founder of LogiMonde Media, Uguette Chiasson.

We have also taken the opportunity in this celebratory edition to profile a travel industry personality who has stood out during the past 25 years: none other than Jill Wykes, who is well-known to everybody in the industry. Take a look inside the magazine to see our feature.
