Travelport launches new mobile products for agencies, airlines
Travel commerce platform Travelport has announced the North American launch of a new mobile product for TMCs and travel agencies, Travelport Trip Assist, as well as its new product for airlines, Travelport Resolve.
Trip Assist will help agencies by providing advanced mobile travel capabilities such as flexible itinerary management, real-time communications, and day of travel assistance.
Travelport is showcasing the Trip Assist technology in Boston this week at the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) convention. It has already been launched in Travelport’s EMEA region, with launch customer XL Travel in South Africa.
Trip Assist provides:
- personal digital travel concierge service
- smart itinerary management
- day of travel assistance
- push-notification reminders
- real-time alerts
- ability to call an agent from within the app
One of its features is Travelport Engage, a flexible mobile messaging tool which delivers personalized travel updates during and after every trip. “We are delighted to offer Trip Assist to TMCs and travel agencies as part of Travelport’s continuously expanding range of services,” said Travelport Digital CCO, Fergal Kelly. “The increasingly connected traveller expects support throughout their trip. Customer engagement via mobile is now critical for agencies of all sizes and we believe that the business travel industry and business travelers are not yet well-served.” The company has also launched Travelport Resolve – a new product for airlines that automates the sourcing and distribution of hotel rooms, meal and transport needs into a single paperless experience, working with an airline’s rebooking process, when flights are cancelled or delayed. Travelport Resolve enables airlines to react to disruptions with speed, immediately communicating with passengers after an itinerary change so passengers can use their mobile devices to quickly select and book their preferred hotel from available local accommodation options. The product will soon include predictive features enabling airlines to recognize potential IROPS situations and local conditions or events that may create limited hotel availability; Travelport Resolve will then automatically procure room inventory needed to meet passenger demand.
