Travel industry gears up for Black Friday with sales and promotions
With all businesses across Canada preparing for this week’s annual Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, several travel companies are also offering a number of discounts to clients looking for that perfect getaway at the right price.
Here’s a round-up of some of what’s available for this year’s sale:
Air Canada Vacations is offering up to 50 per cent discounts on packages to Mexico & the Caribbean, Florida, Hawaii and Las Vegas, booked by Nov. 27, while additional savings are also being offered on all Air Canada flights.
Until Nov. 29, 2016 Club Med’s Black Friday Flash Sale offers savings of up to 55 per cent on a wide selection of resorts, including in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Florida, the Bahamas and more. The most loyal GMs (Silver, Gold or Platinum Great Members) will also enjoy an additional 10 per cent discount by booking a Deluxe Room or a Suite.
Contiki Canada begins its Black Friday sale by featuring an additional discount on 17 Last Minute Deals spanning the globe (from Europe, Asia, Latin America to South Pac) at up to 30 per cent off. The sale will only be available until Nov. 30.
G Adventures is holding a four-day Cyber Sale, coinciding with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, during which travellers can save up to 35 per cent on a variety of tours with departures through to March 31, 2017. Bookings must be made between Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 (12:00am EST) and Monday, Nov. 28, 2016 (11:59pm EST).
During Norwegian Cruise Line’s Black Friday Bonus and Cyber Monday Special running until Nov. 30, travelers will only be required to make a $50 per person deposit on all sailings fleetwide in Studio, inside, oceanview, balcony, and min-suite staterooms, along with Norwegian’s Free at Sea promotion where guests choose from five free offers when they book a new cruise vacation.
Sunwing has brought back its ‘Orange in the New Black Friday’ sale, offering savings of up to 50 per cent on all-inclusive packages to select resorts in the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America. Valid on all new bookings made up until midnight on Nov. 27, 2016, or while supplies last, the savings are available on numerous departures throughout the winter season.
Topdeck Travel’s Black Friday sale will run until Nov. 28 with discounts up to 70 per cent off. Highlights of the sale include: Sydney Discovery trip and Tropical Discovery trip for £100 for the first 15 people that book; 50 per cent off ski trips in Japan; 30 per cent of all North America trips; 30 per cent of all Europe Winter trips; 30 per cent of all Asia trips; 30 per cent of all Middle East trips.
Trafalgar is offering savings on 18 of their most popular 2017 Europe and Britain trips; travellers can now save up to 15 per cent on the land portion of select guided vacations and departure dates. The trip must be booked and paid in full by Nov. 28.
- Until Nov. 28, Transat is offering discounts on several flights to Europe and South destinations, with savings of up to 50 per cent on all-inclusive Sun packages, as well as deals on packages, guided tours and cruise packages in Europe.
From November 25 to 28, Transat also offers travel agents five times more Bonbon rewards (25$) on South, Florida and cruise package bookings!

TravelBrands has a pair of Black Friday promotions: bookings made through Sunquest on several Bahia properties by Nov. 27 are eligible for savings of up to $600, while Encore Cruises is offering free gratuities + $200 air discount on any 2016 sailing with Celebrity Cruises; Galapagos sailings with Celebrity are eligible for a $400 air credit.
- For bookings made by Nov. 25, travellers flying with WestJet can save on all flights within Canada and to the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean for travel until April 29, 2017; savings are also offered on European destinations for travel between Jan. 17 and April 29, 2017.
