Tokyo Tourism launches agent contest
Tokyo Tourism is looking to educate Canadian travel agents on tourism to Japan through a new contest and promotional campaign.
On Monday (July 25), the tourism board is launching a new contest for Canadian agents who sign up to receive their monthly newsletter by giving away $50 cash prizes to 10 lucky winners.
According to Tokyo Tourism spokesperson Nami Ikeda, the goal of the promotion is to maintain and increase travel by Canadians to Tokyo; in January this year, the city welcomed 17,700 visitors compared to 14,250 in January 2015. Those numbers are indicative of Canadian travel to Japan overall, which saw 231,423 Canadian visitors last year, setting a new record.
The promotion comes shortly after the recent reopening of Tokyo Tourism’s new Canadian office in Toronto (located at 460 Richmond St.) and in addition, the board has also recently launched its &Tokyo campaign, showcasing the many travel and tourism opportunities available in Japan’s capital, from culture and cuisine to nightlife and entertainment. More about the campaign can be found here.
