Police seek travel agent in connection with fraud investigation
Toronto Police are seeking the assistance of the public to locate Carolyn (Michelle) Solomon, who operated as an unregistered travel agent and is wanted in connection with a fraud investigation.
In response to numerous complaints from consumers who received unauthorized charges on their credit cards, TICO conducted an investigation and, to date, has laid a total of 18 charges against Solomon for operating as a travel agent without registration. TICO's charges relate to Solomon's activities after the registration of Blue Mountain Travel in Toronto was terminated in July 2015.
In October 2015, following TICO's application to the Superior Court of Justice, an Order to Cease and Desist prohibiting Ms. Solomon from selling travel services without registration was issued.
On April 15, 2016, Ms. Solomon was arrested by Toronto Police and was charged with two counts of fraud over $5,000. Since that time and after further investigation, Toronto Police have charged her with numerous other offences.
Toronto Police are asking anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact 911 immediately.
Information can be shared with Detective Ruth Moran at 416-808-7319 or ruth.moran@torontopolice.on.ca.
The public can also contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, text TOR to CRIMES (274637).
