More than 200 killed in Mexico earthquake
At least 200 people have been killed after a 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Mexico last night, the second quake endured by the country in two weeks.
The New York Times reported that the majority of people killed were in the state of Morelos near the quake's epicentre, about 100 miles from Mexico City, where dozens more were killed.
Benito Juárez International Airport suspended operations following the quake.
President Enrique Pena Nieto, currently on the move, announced on his Twitter account that he immediately took a return flight to Mexico City to deal with the situation after the earthquake, convening the national emergency committee.
The latest quake took place on the 32nd anniversary of the catastrophic 1985 earthquake, which measured 8.1 and killed more than 10,000 people.
