Update: one Canadian killed, 3 injured in Mexico bus crash
One Canadian was killed and three others were injured in yesterday's fatal tour bus crash in Mexico, which killed at least 12 passengers.
The CBC reported that Global Affairs Canada confirmed a Canadian was among those killed in the crash, but did not provide further details other than that consular services were being offered to affected family members.
Three other Canadians - a man in his fifties and his two daughters - suffered minor injuries, the report said.
The bus was carrying 31 cruise ship passengers to Mayan ruins in Quintana Roo when it flipped on the highway, Mexican authorities said. While the nationalities of those killed is yet to be released, seven Americans and two Swedes were among the injured.
Royal Caribbean confirmed that passengers from two of its ships, Celebrity Equinox and Serenade of the Seas, were involved in the crash.
