Kicking off the festive season on Friday night (Dec. 2), the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), together with representatives from Air Canada, gathered approximately 100 agent partners together at the Markham Event Centre for a little holiday cheer.

In an evening designed to celebrate the partnership between the two organizations and the support they have both received from the travel agent community, Rocky Lo, Air Canada’s director of revenue management & business development – Asia, thanked everyone for their support of the new, daily Toronto-Seoul service launch in June 2016 and their ongoing support for Air Canada overall.

As far as Korea's arrivals go, the KTO's director John Hyungkwan Park cited a 17 per cent increase of Canadian arrivals saw this year, bringing the number from 145,000 in 2015 to a projected 170,000 by the end of 2016. “It’s incredible,” said Park, “a great success.” The goal for 2017 is even higher – 190,000 Canadian arrivals.

Air Canada is looking forward to the launch of three new Asian routes in 2017: Montreal-Shanghai, Vancouver-Taipei and Vancouver-Nagoya.
