Just beCAUSE returns with second networking event

The second Just beCAUSE networking event took place in Toronto recently, commemorating World AIDS Day on Dec. 1 with a benefit for the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR).

The latest event welcomed approximately 60 members of the travel industry to an informal networking session, bridging the Canadian travel industry and Toronto’s local LGBT community. Just beCAUSE co-founder Darrell Schuurman said that the latest event was inspired by the strong feedback following Just beCAUSE’s initial launch in June during Pride Month celebrations.

“We had great feedback since first event,” says Schuurman, who is also co-founder & vice-chair board of directors for the Canadian Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. “We have a passion for the industry as well as the LGBT community so we wanted to bring the two together where we could network and give back and we thought what better time to host one than World AIDS Day.”

The latest event was sponsored by the Tourist Office of Spain and WorldPride Madrid.
