EU delays visa decision

EU delays visa decision

A vote by the European Union regarding its visa reciprocity policy with Canada and the U.S. has been delayed again, after a previous deadline of July 12 came and went without a decision.

The Toronto Star reported that the decision has been delayed pending the upcoming EU-Canada summit this fall, in which EU officials hope to see more progress made on the matter.

The EU has argued that in order for Canadians to country visa-free travel to its member nations, Canada should repeal its visa requirements for Romanian and Bulgarian citizens – the only EU member countries whose citizens require visas for Canadian travel.
