Air Canada's inflight magazine serves up top restaurants

Vancouver’s Kissa Tanto restaurant has topped the list of Canada’s best restaurants, as ranked by Air Canada’s enRoute magazine.

Now in its 15th year, the annual list ranked the Japanese-Italian fusion restaurant in Vancouver’s historic Chinatown as its top pick for 2016. Kissa Tanto partners Tannis Ling and Joël Watanabe were previously included on the list for their French-Chinese brasserie Bao Bei, which placed second in 2010.

The top three is rounded out by Toronto’s Alo and FireWorks, located in Bay Fortune, PEI, while the Air Canada enRoute People's Choice Award Winner, presented by lead sponsor American Express, went to Backhouse in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON.

The Top 10 restaurants will officially receive their awards during the annual Canada's Best New Restaurants Gala celebration, taking place Nov. 10 at Toronto's Design Exchange.
