Marriott reaches 300 hotels in Mexico, with 76 more in pipeline
Marriott International has reached 300 properties in Mexico with the opening of Courtyard by Marriott Torreón, bringing its portfolio in the country to more than 44,000 rooms across 25 brands.
Mexico is Marriott's largest market in the Caribbean and Latin America, accounting for more than half of its open properties in the region and nearly 40 per cent of projects in its regional pipeline.
As of the second quarter of 2026, Marriott had 76 hotels representing more than 12,000 rooms in its Mexico development pipeline. The company expects to open more than 10 additional hotels in the country before the end of the year.
Alejandro Acevedo, regional vice-president of development for Marriott International in the Caribbean and Latin America, said the company's growth strategy in Mexico includes conversions of existing hotels, expanded all-inclusive offerings, branded residences and development in regional business hubs.
