Club Med is growing its Exclusive Collection with the addition of a new beachfront resort in Koh Samui, Thailand’s second largest island.

The upcoming Club Med Exclusive Collection Koh Samui will be the brand’s first resort of this category in Thailand and its second property in the country, after Club Med Phuket, which opened in 1985.

Located on Koh Samui’s northern shoreline, the 303-room resort will feature a private beach stretching more than 200 meters, a range of sports and seaside activities for guests, and signature Club Med programs, including Kids Club and Amazing Family.

“This exceptional property situated on an exclusive beach along the coast of Koh Samui marks an exciting expansion in our portfolio,” said Stéphane Maquaire, president and CEO of Club Med, in a statement.

“With the acceleration we have been making, from the soon-to-be-opened Club Med Borneo in Malaysia and Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari to the signing of Club Med Manado in Indonesia and Club Med Tremblant in Canada, this new chapter will continue to strengthen Club Med’s leadership in premium, all-inclusive experiential holidays in breathtaking destinations such as here in Koh Samui.”

Located just 25-minute drive from Koh Samui Airport, the resort promises a vibrant beachfront retreat celebrating the Thai island lifestyle.

The resort is expected to welcome its first visitors in the latter half of 2028.

It joins Club Med's global network of over 60 Premium and Exclusive Collection resorts across 25 countries.

The Exclusive Collection now represents 13 per cent of global capacity, spanning 21 properties, including resorts, villas, chalets, and the Club Med 2 sailing yacht.

Record business volume

The news comes on the heels of Club Med sharing insights from its 2025 balance sheet.

The company is reporting record business volume of €2.22 billion, representing a four per cent increase compared to 2024, reinforcing an upward trajectory in the premium all-inclusive travel segment.

“In a demanding global environment, our results underscore the uniqueness of our positioning and the strength of our model,” stated Maquaire.

Maquaire noted that the next phase of growth will require acceleration, as Club Med adapts to evolving guest expectations while expanding its customer base.

The company has outlined an ambitious long-term vision: to double its size by 2035 and welcome 2.6 million guests across a network of 100 premium resorts worldwide.

Dream Makers

Finally, Club Med has let cameras inside their operations with the premiere of “Dream Makers,” a four-episode documentary, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The series follows eleven candidates from all over the world competing for the Chef de Village role, one of the most demanding and coveted positions in global hospitality.

It's a rare behind-the-scenes look at the brand, and a front-row seat to the most important kind of luxury in travel: “happiness,” the company said.

“The people shaping the resorts of tomorrow aren’t executives in a boardroom, they're the Chefs de Village, also known as the “Creators of Happiness,’’ reads a press release.

Through simulations, group challenges, high-pressure interviews, and committee decisions, the series goes behind the postcard-perfect images into the moments that define the role, from a resort being rebuilt in just ten months to navigating uncharted territory in brand new destinations.
