Wave Season roundup: cruise deals that are making a splash

It’s that time of year again.

Wave Season – when cruise lines, from winter through to spring, unlock all kinds of money-saving promotions – has arrived.

From discounted fares to onboard credits to stateroom upgrades to savings on land packages, the deals are sailing in like a fleet of ships on a favourable tide.

There’s a lot to keep track of, but PAX has your back. Here’s our roundup of the latest Wave Season offers that have crossed our news desk so far. Check back with this page for more!

AmaWaterways

AmaWaterways is offering guests the opportunity to extend their river cruise with complimentary two, three or four-night pre and post-cruise land packages available on select 2025 and 2026 European sailings. Guests unable to extend their vacations can chose to take up to $2,000 per stateroom discount – dependent on itinerary and departure date.

Guests booking a new reservation on select European sailings between January 1 through March 31, 2025 can choose from more than 20 available land packages (choices dependent on booked itinerary) on upwards of 69 different itineraries covering more than 230 departure dates in 2025 and doubling to more than 460 departures in 2026.

Atlas Ocean Voyages

Atlas Ocean Voyages has launched its Adventure Beyond Wave Season offer. Guests can enjoy up to 30% savings—a value of up to $10,000 per stateroom—and up to $600 onboard credit on select expeditions in 2025, available on new reservations.

The onboard credit can be used for upgrades like enhanced Wi-Fi packages, small-group experiences such as kayaking and camping in Antarctica, treatments at SeaSpa by L’OCCITANE, or boutique shopping.

Solo travellers can unlock a single supplement starting at 125% on select expeditions. Guests can explore on journeys spanning 7 to 20 nights or more, featuring overnight stays and late departures.

Travel advisors can also benefit with a special reward: a $1,000 Gift Card for each new booking made on select February and March 2025 expeditions to Antarctica. Bookings must be confirmed by February 3, 2025, to qualify.

Aurora Expeditions

Aurora Expeditions is inviting travellers to embark on an adventure to Antarctica or the Arctic with its Wave Season offers and four ways to save, including:

• Save on Antarctica 2025-26: Save up to 20% on select 2025/2026 expeditions to Antarctica, plus receive an Air Credit of $2,000 per person, valued at a total of up to $6,500 per person*. 

• Antarctica Solo Offer: No Single Supplement: Aurora Expeditions is offering no single supplements on the full fare of select Antarctica 2025/2026 expeditions.

• Save on Arctic 2025: Expeditioners can enjoy savings of up to 20% off, plus receive a free stateroom upgrade in Balcony Stateroom Categories B and C, on select Arctic 2025 voyages, valued at a total of up to $3,000 per person*. 

• Arctic Solo Offer: No Single Supplement: Travelers can take advantage of no single supplements on the full fare of select Arctic 2025 adventures to Greenland, Svalbard and the Northwest Passage.

Aurora Expeditions is also launching a trade incentive for travel agents: the Big Polar Giveaway. 

Agents who make and deposit a new booking now through Feb. 15, 2025, will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win an epic Antarctic or Arctic expedition for two. Each qualifying booking counts as one entry, so the more bookings agents make, the greater their chances of winning this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, Terms and conditions apply.

Azamara

Azamara is offering up to $1,000 in onboard credit and more than $4,500 in added value with “Always Azamara” inclusions (such as complimentary room service, food and beverages, unlimited self-service laundry or gratuities) with new bookings made between Dec. 11, 2024 and Feb. 28, 2025. Promo applies to select 2025 sailings only.

Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity Cruises guests can save between 50% and 75% off a second guest’s fare on select sailings as part of its “Semi-Annual Sale.” The 50% discount applies to refundable fares, while the 75% promo applies to non-refundable fares.

Cruisers can also save up to $600 per stateroom, depending on their voyage length and cabin category. Celebrity will continue to offer Wave Season deals through April 7, but the specifics may vary.

Celestyal Cruises

Celestyal’s “Live Your Vacation Dream” promo applies to all new bookings made through Feb. 28, 2025.

The offer applies to 19 voyages across 2025, 2026 and early 2027, including six Arabian Gulf “Desert Days” departures and 13 Greek and Mediterranean cruises, offering savings of up to 50%.

Select voyages also include a bonus of up to €100 per person, pre-loaded onto each guest’s CelestyalPay account.

In addition, Celestyal is offering travel advisors a $50 bonus commission for select three and four-night cruises during the campaign, and up to $100 for select seven-night cruises. See more here.

Cunard 

Cunard kicks off Wave season with two campaigns: "Treat yourself, on us" and "Enjoy it all."

Returning in 2025, "Treat yourself, on us" is available on most voyages between June 2025 and March 2027 on Cunard's fleet – flagship Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth, and the line's newest ship, Queen Anne.

"Enjoy It all" is available on select stateroom categories on all Alaska, Caribbean, and Panama Canal voyages sailing on Queen Elizabeth from June 2025 to September 2026.

From now through March 26, 2025, "Treat yourself, on us" includes Onboard Credit up to $800 USD per stateroom ($400 per person in a Queens Grill Suite for voyages sailing 10 to 20 nights). 

Onboard Credit may be used for onboard shopping or booking Shore Experiences, spa treatments, and other onboard services. The Drinks Package and Hotel & Dining Service Charges are included when booking any Princess Grill or Queens Grill Suite.

The "Treat yourself, on us" offer is available on the following itineraries:

• 2025 Alaska, Canada, Caribbean, Europe, Mediterranean, Panama, and Transatlantic
• 2026 Canada, Caribbean, Europe, Mediterranean, Transatlantic, World and World Segments

"Enjoy it all" is available for $60 per person, per day when combined with the "Treat yourself, on us" promotion.

Explora Journeys

Guests who book Explora Journeys by Feb. 28, 2025, will enjoy savings on select voyages, a reduced 10% deposit, and up to EUR 1,000 in prepaid Destination Experiences Credits per suite, per reservation.

The offer is combinable with other promotions including the Explora Early Booking Benefit, Journey Together and Journey Together Gatherings, Back-to-Back savings, and others. The line’s Wave Season promo is not applicable to special sailings like the the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco itineraries and packages.

Holland America Line

During Holland America Line’s Start Your Journey wave sale, travellers can take advantage balcony upgrades, bonus amenities, reduced deposits and exceptional savings — with cruise fares starting at just $129 per person, per day.

Running through Feb. 28, 2025, the promo applies to select spring 2025 and spring 2026 cruises with the "Have It All" premium package, a free stateroom upgrade in select categories, reduced fares, free fares for kids and 50% reduced deposits — plus Have It All's shore excursions, beverages, specialty dining and Wi-Fi.

As a bonus, cruisers who book by Jan. 31, 2025, also receive up to $400 per stateroom onboard credit, depending on cruise length, as an early booking incentive.

Margaritaville at Sea

This Wave Season, the Jimmy Buffett-inspired Margaritaville at Sea is offering 60% fare discounts, up to $300 in onboard credit, and free fares for third and fourth guests. The deal is available until Jan. 31. 

Passengers can make reservations for sailings through Dec. 31, 2025, on the line’s Margaritaville at Sea Paradise ship, and through Dec. 31, 2026, aboard the new Margaritaville at Sea Islander.

Oceania Cruises

Travellers who book with Oceania from Dec. 11, 2024 to Jan. 31, 2025, will receive up to a four-category stateroom upgrade, plus the choice of one amenity (free or reduced air, a premium drinks package, or a shipboard credit of up to $1,000 per stateroom).

The extra amenity and the stateroom upgrade are available on a total of 105 global sailings – 79 in 2025 and 26 in 2026 – and offer guests up to $5,700 in additional value.

Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises' “Come Aboard” Wave season is on through Feb. 28, 2025 and offers savings of up to 40% on cruise fares, plus free room upgrades, $99 deposits, and free sailings for third and fourth guests in the same stateroom.

Quark Expeditions

Quark Expeditions is inviting travellers to see the Polar Regions like never before with its Triple Bonus Event.

Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean’s wave season deals for 2025 are on now until March 31, 2025. 

Royal Caribbean is offering 60% off second guest with the promo code BOGO60 and Kids Sail Free with the promo code KSF. These discounts are perfect for those who are ready to start on their 2025 vacation planning or might be new to cruise.

With 3-night weekend trips on Utopia from Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida and 7-night weeklong adventures on Icon from Miami, there’s a vacation for everyone’s schedule. 

These deals also extend 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean vacations on Star of the Seas, debuting in Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida in August 2025.

Scenic Group

Scenic Group's Wave of Savings event runs until Feb. 2, 2025. 

During this time, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises offer a variety of deals, including two-for-one fares (on river and Discovery Yacht cruises), free airfare (available for select itineraries with pay-in-full bookings) and bonus suite savings of up to $3,000 per suite on yacht voyages and up to $1,750 on select river sailings. 

Seabourn

Seabourn is offering guests up to 15% off select cruises and expeditions in 2025 and 2026, 15% reduced deposits, and as much as $1,000 in onboard credit per suite as part of its “Sail of Year” offer. Passengers must book by Feb. 18, 2025. Click here for more.

Silversea Cruises

There are “Up to $5,000 Reasons to Sail” with Silversea this wave season as the luxury cruise line offers up to $5,000 per suite (or up to $2,500 per person) on more than 500 voyages, for both door-to-door and port-to-port all-inclusive fares. Additionally, during the promo, the deposit on applicable sailings has been reduced to 15%.

Star Clippers 

This wave season, Star Clippers is celebrating 2025 by offering guests air credits and complimentary onboard beverage credits on all three of their tall ships when booking a cabin in categories two through six, as follows:

• Guests booking a three- to six-night sailing will receive $150 air credit per person and $150 beverage credit per cabin;
• Guests booking a seven- to nine- night sailing will receive $200 air credit per person and $200 beverage credit per cabin;
• Guests booking a sailing of ten or more nights will receive $250 air credit per person and $250 beverage credit per cabin.

Guests must book their cruise by March 31, 2025 to qualify for the Wave Offer. Offer is valid for residents of North, Central and South America only.

The 2025 Wave Offer is good on more than 100 sailings through November 2026, and includes Mediterranean destinations like the idyllic Greek Islands, storied Rome and the Amalfi Coast, stunning Spain and the Balearic Islands, and the chic French and Italian Rivieras. 

Viking 

Viking's "Explorers’ Sale" provides travellers with new booking incentives across the company’s river, ocean and expedition voyages (and across all seven continents).

From now through January 31, 2025, Viking is offering special fares starting at $1,999 per person and up to free international airfare on select itineraries, as well as a $25 deposit for all itineraries—plus additional savings for new and returning guests.

Virgin Voyages

To kick off 2025, Virgin Voyages has an enticing Wave offer – buy one Sailor, get the second 80% off plus up to $300 in free drinks. No itinerary is off limits. 

Virgin also has deals for solo cruisers and for travellers who pay in full. Included are reduced single supplements (up to $3,500 off) and 10% off for pay-in-full customers who book and pay for their voyage at least 180 days ahead of the sailing.
