Royal Caribbean continues sailing after fire

Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas will continue its voyage following an on-board fire yesterday.

RCL tweeted that the fire, which was quickly contained and extinguished, took place in a “mechanical space” on board the ship, which was sailing to Falmouth, Jamaica at the time of the incident. A crew member was treated for a burn and no guests were injured, the cruise line said.

RCL reported that all of the ship’s systems are functioning normally and the Freedom of the Seas will continue on to Grand Cayman today.
