Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) has donated $50,000 to support relief efforts following severe flooding in Hawaii.

The funding will be split evenly between the Lāhui Foundation and the North Shore Chamber of Commerce, two organizations supporting recovery efforts across affected communities in Maui and Oʻahu.

According to NCLH, the donation will support immediate needs such as food distribution, cleanup and assistance for displaced residents, as well as longer-term recovery initiatives.

“These communities are facing immense challenges in the aftermath of these historic floods,” said Dan Farkas, EVP and general counsel, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.

“Supporting the communities we visit is central to our ‘Sail & Sustain’ program and our broader commitment to creating lasting value in the destinations we serve. We are focused on doing our part to help our partners and neighbors recover, rebuild and emerge stronger.”

The flooding followed back-to-back Kona low storms that brought heavy rainfall to the islands, triggering what officials described as the worst flooding in more than 20 years.

Oʻahu’s North Shore was among the hardest-hit areas, with floodwaters displacing residents, damaging homes and farms, and prompting evacuations and emergency rescues.

Local organizations have been leading response efforts on the ground.

The Lāhui Foundation has coordinated volunteer support, distributed supplies and funded community-led recovery projects, while the North Shore Chamber of Commerce has been working with local businesses and residents to restore economic activity.

“We are deeply grateful to Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings for their generous support during this critical time for our community. This contribution will directly assist families, small businesses, and farmers across the North Shore as they recover and rebuild,” said Carol Philips, vice president, North Shore Chamber of Commerce.

“Their partnership reflects a genuine commitment to the well-being and resilience of the communities they serve, and we sincerely appreciate their support.”

The donation was made through NCLH’s Sail & Sustain program, which focuses on environmental and community initiatives across the company’s global operations.
