MSC World Asia raises the bar on wellness at sea with expanded spa

MSC Cruises is putting wellness front and centre aboard its newest flagship, MSC World Asia, with an expanded spa offering that the cruise line says will be its most comprehensive to date.

The new World Class ship is set to begin sailing Dec. 4, 2026, offering seven-night Mediterranean itineraries calling at destinations including Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia for Rome, Messina and Valletta.

As the third ship in MSC Cruises’ World Class series, MSC World Asia will incorporate design elements inspired by Asian culture, art and landscapes throughout the ship, including within its 13,562-square-foot MSC Aurea Spa.

The space is being positioned as a sanctuary for relaxation, rejuvenation and wellbeing, combining traditional spa experiences with advanced wellness technologies and personalized treatments.

Every aspect of the MSC Aurea Spa has been thoughtfully designed to help guests relax, recharge and leave feeling their very best,” said Georg Schmickler, senior vice president onboard revenues at MSC Cruises, in a press release. 

New wellness technologies

Among the treatments available aboard MSC World Asia will be Dry Float Therapy by Starpool, designed to relieve muscular tension and promote relaxation without guests getting wet.

The spa will also offer Whole-Body Cryotherapy, aimed at supporting muscle recovery, circulation and reduced inflammation, along with Iyashi Dôme Infrared Therapy, which draws inspiration from Japanese wellness traditions.

LPG Endermologie will also be available, using technology designed to stimulate collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production while helping smooth and firm the skin.

Personalized treatments

Personalization will play a key role in the onboard wellness experience, with each guest's journey beginning with a consultation.

Options will include AI-powered skin and scalp analysis, FootBalance 3D foot scanning, bespoke facial treatments and wellness recommendations tailored to individual needs.

Fitness facilities will also be part of the offering through the MSC Gym powered by Technogym, featuring equipment, functional training areas, immersive group classes and personalized coaching

12 thermal experiences

The MSC Aurea Spa's Thermal Area will feature 12 wellness experiences combining heat, water and relaxation.

Among the highlights will be a Panoramic Sea-View Sauna, Snow Room, aromatic steam rooms, Finnish and bio saunas and a Himalayan Salt Room.

Guests will also have access to Japanese-inspired ganbanyoku beds, experience showers, whirlpools and relaxation lounges.

MSC World Asia will join MSC Cruises’ expanding World Class fleet when it enters service this December.
