MSC Cruises opens bookings for 2028 Alaska season

MSC Cruises has opened bookings for its summer 2028 Alaska season aboard MSC Poesia.

The ship will return to Seattle for its third season of Alaska sailings, operating weekly seven-night itineraries from April 24 through Sept. 18, 2028.

Ports of call will include Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Juneau and Victoria, B.C. 

The itineraries will also feature scenic cruising through Tracy Arm, a glacier-carved fjord offering views of waterfalls and the Sawyer Glaciers.

“Alaska has quickly become one of our most popular destinations, and opening sales for a third season reflects the strong demand we’ve seen since launching there this year. Expanding our program for the 2028 summer season gives guests even more opportunities to explore this extraordinary region and plan their holiday in advance," said Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises. 

"Following her recent upgrade, MSC Poesia will offer guests the finest hospitality MSC Cruises is known for, with enhanced facilities and the newly introduced MSC Yacht Club."

MSC Poesia recently underwent a major refurbishment that added an MSC Yacht Club, the cruise line’s ship-within-a-ship concept. 

The space includes 69 suites, 24-hour butler and concierge service, a private restaurant and lounge and a sundeck with whirlpools, a grill restaurant and bar.

Two specialty restaurants were also added: American-style steakhouse Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar.

Other updates include an expanded MSC Aurea Spa and MSC Gym Powered by Technogym, a barber shop, workout studios and the Top 15 Exclusive Solarium, an outdoor space reserved for Aurea guests.

Onboard programming includes production shows, live music and Dirty Dancing: In Concert, a live-to-film concert featuring singers, dancers and musicians.

During the Alaska itineraries, guests may see whales, orcas, bald eagles, bears, deer, otters and harbour seals. 

Extended daylight hours will provide additional viewing opportunities while the ship travels through Alaska’s Inside Passage.

Bookings are also available for MSC Cruises’ 2027 Alaska season, which runs from April 26 through Sept. 27.

Between Alaska seasons, MSC Poesia will operate Grand Voyage sailings through the Panama Canal between Miami and Seattle.
