Crystal confirms third next-gen luxury ship for 2034 delivery

Crystal is expanding its future fleet with the confirmation of a third next-generation ocean ship to be built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri.

The luxury cruise line announced that the contract for the vessel has officially become effective.

Scheduled for delivery in 2034, the ship is covered under an option exercised in 2024 and represents Crystal's continued investment in the future of luxury cruising.

The new ship will join Crystal Grace, which is currently under construction at Fincantieri's Marghera shipyard and is scheduled to debut in 2028, as well as a sister ship set to arrive in May 2031.

Together, the three vessels will represent the next evolution of Crystal's approach to personalized service, spacious accommodations and immersive luxury travel, the company said in a press release.  

Like its sister ships, the new vessel will accommodate 650 guests based on double occupancy and measure approximately 62,000 gross tons.

Designed by internationally recognized architectural firms, the ship will feature all-veranda suites, including an expansive Owner's Suite and new accommodation categories tailored to evolving guest preferences, including solo travellers.

Crystal said every suite is designed to maximize space, comfort and connection to the sea, supported by one of the highest crew-to-guest ratios in the luxury cruise sector.

The vessel will also feature expansive indoor and outdoor public spaces, including a full wrap-around promenade inspired by the walkways aboard Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity. Guests will have access to open-air venues, outdoor lounges and al fresco dining terraces at specialty restaurants overlooking the ocean.

Fincantieri also highlighted the strength of its partnership with Crystal and A&K Travel Group.

The announcement follows several recent milestones for Crystal, including the steel-cutting ceremony for Crystal Grace, the opening of bookings for the ship's inaugural 2028 season and continued strong demand for its portfolio of global itineraries.
