Virtuoso Canada is expanding its team to sharpen its focus on its partners, PAX has learned.

As part of the strategy, Nick Roberti will be joining Virtuoso Canada as an account director in partner relations.

He will be responsible for the strategic direction of the Virtuoso Canada preferred partnership program.

Roberti, who begins his role on Sept. 11, joins Virtuoso from The Travel Corporation and G Touring.

“I am looking forward to jumping into this new role for Virtuoso Canada” Roberti said in a statement obtained by PAX. “I am thrilled to join this already established team and drive meaningful results for Virtuoso travellers and partners in Canada.”

In addition, Virtuoso Canada will add Andy Clark as account manager, partner relations. Effective Aug. 22, he will join Virtuoso from Vizzion, Pan Pacific hotels and Flight Centre.

“Providing support in creating sales plans for Virtuoso partners is a key component of the Virtuoso network model” stated Clark. “I am looking forward to working with the team to drive the business forward.”

PAX learned about the team update at the 35th annual Virtuoso Travel Week – a mega conference happening this week in Las Vegas at the Bellagio, Aria and Vdara resorts that, this year, has welcomed more than 5,000 luxury travel professionals from more than 100 countries.

PAX is the only Canadian trade news outlet attending the event, which is often referred to as "The Fashion Week" of travel.

With a focus on fostering human connections, bolstering sales and highlighting the latest trends, the conference – packed with one-to-one “speed-dating” appointments, VIP speakers and workshops – sets the stage for the future of luxury travel.

Meeting with PAX at the conference on Monday (Aug. 14), Úna O’Leary, general manager of Virtuoso Canada, said she was “super excited” about Roberti and Clark joining her team.

“We are dedicated to supporting our Virtuoso Canada network of members and partners by bringing on seasoned travel professionals to support growth in the market. Nick and Andy bring strength in relationship building, partnership development and a growth mindset to the Canadian team,” O’Leary said.

The new hires support O’Leary’s mission to provide Canadian Virtuoso members and partners with coast-to-coast (and bilingual) support, which is now found in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax.

The Virtuoso Canada team, led by O’Leary, also includes Augustine Kwong, member relationships, based in Vancouver; James Allen, account manager and member relations, based in Montreal, also overseeing Ontario East; Anna Judek, director of marketing; Ryan Fraser, marketing and events, based in Halifax; and Montreal-based Aaron Smith, an operations coordinator.
