TICO Board approves one claim against Comp. Fund

The Travel Industry Council of Ontario’s (TICO’s) Board of Directors on Dec. 17 approved one claim against the Ontario Travel Industry Compensation Fund totalling $500 to assist four consumers who did not receive the travel services for which they had paid.

The claims are as follows:

Trip Support Inc – One claim to assist four consumers, totalling $500

The Compensation Fund aims to protect consumers in Ontario who do not receive the travel services they paid for due to the insolvency or bankruptcy of an Ontario-registered travel agent or travel wholesaler or due to the cessation of an end supplier airline or cruise line.

The Fund only covers consumers who have booked through an Ontario-registered travel agent.
