Nexion makes staffing changes; Friedman to become president of both Canada & U.S. offices
Jackie Friedman. (Nexion Travel Group).

Nexion Travel Group Canada has made some staffing changes as company president, Mike Foster, prepares to step down from his role at the end of the year, PAX has learned.

In an email sent to members earlier this month, Jackie Friedman, president of Nexion Travel Group, revealed that Esther Roemmele will move into the role of director of Canada operations, continuing her focus on the Canadian market.

Additionally, Jenny Lloret will step into a member services supervisor role, Friedman said.

Alex Foster, Mike's Foster’s son, has also become a sales specialist.

“Many of you already know Alex, both as Mike's son and a longtime Canadian travel professional. We're confident that his experience and personality will make him well-suited to recruiting new Nexion-Canada members,” Friedman wrote.

Finally, Friedman revealed that she will step into the role of president for both Nexion-Canada and the United States.

Friedman joined Nexion in 2004 as vice-president of U.S. Operations. In 2007, she was promoted to president.

Prior to joining the Nexion team, Friedman spent 15 years with Sabre, serving in a variety of sales and leadership positions. She started out working as a front-line agent and a travel agency manager in Toronto.

“I am especially pleased to bring a uniquely Canadian perspective to this position, as I hail from Toronto and have always had oversight of the entire Nexion organization,” wrote Friedman, who is based in the U.S.

In a September press release, Mike Foster commented on his upcoming exit.

“This is perhaps the best time for me to step down from this role,” said Foster, who is based in London, ON. “I do so with nothing but pride in the work that I have been a part of, and confidence in a company that I know is on the path to a very bright future. My colleagues are truly the best in the industry.”
