Kensington appoints Tara Powadiuk as SVP, marketing amid luxury expansion
Kensington has named Tara Powadiuk as its new senior vice-president of marketing, tapping the veteran executive to lead the company's global marketing strategy as it continues to expand its presence in the luxury and ultra-luxury travel markets.
Powadiuk brings more than 25 years of experience in brand development, digital transformation and customer engagement, joining the company during a period of growth that has seen Kensington broaden its portfolio of personalized travel experiences and introduce new offerings aimed at affluent travellers seeking more customized journeys.
"Tara brings the strategic vision, global perspective and transformational leadership that will help define Kensington's next chapter," said Jeff Willner, founder and CEO of Range Group, Kensington’s parent company, in a press release.
"She has an exceptional ability to build brands, inspire high-performing teams and leverage technology to create outstanding customer experiences. As we continue to expand our portfolio, invest in innovative travel experiences, strengthen our brand and deepen our commitment to creating a positive impact through Kensington Cares, Tara's leadership will help us tell that story in powerful new ways.”
Before joining Kensington, Powadiuk held senior leadership roles at organizations including Volvo Cars Canada and Microsoft, where she led digital and e-commerce initiatives, marketing campaigns and cross-functional teams across more than 30 countries.
Her background also includes experience in product development and digital transformation across the technology, government and luxury automotive sectors.
"I'm thrilled to join Kensington at such an exciting time in the company's evolution," stated Powadiuk. "Kensington has built an extraordinary reputation for delivering curated travel experiences that inspire curiosity, connection and discovery. I look forward to working with the talented team to further elevate the brand, strengthen our relationship with travelers, travel agents and partners, and help shape the future of luxury travel."
In her new role, Powadiuk will oversee the company's global brand strategy, integrated and digital marketing, customer acquisition and retention, partnerships, marketing innovation and agent sales, working alongside Kensington's outside sales team.
The appointment comes after a series of strategic investments by the company, including the launch of Kensington Ultra Luxe, which encompasses Kensington Yachts, Kensington Villas and Kensington Expeditions. Kensington has also expanded its broader portfolio through Kensington Vacations, Kensington Corporate, Kensington Air and TripArc, its technology and procurement division.
The company says it also continues to advance its responsible tourism initiatives through Kensington Cares, which incorporates philanthropy into travel experiences through its 1% Promise and One + One giving model.
