Hurtigruten appoints Iain Powell as chief commercial officer

Hurtigruten has appointed Iain Powell as its new chief commercial officer (CCO).

Powell joined Hurtigruten in March 2024 as vice president of sales and marketing for the UK and EMEA, before being promoted to managing director for the Nordics, UK, and emerging markets in December 2024.

His career has spanned brands including TUI, Carnival UK, and Saga Travel Group, where he held the role of trading director. Over the past year, Powell has "proven himself to be a strong and clear leader within Hurtigruten, demonstrating the ability to deliver results across multiple markets," the company said in a press release. 

In his new role, he will now lead Hurtigruten’s global commercial strategy, strengthen the company’s market position, and drive further growth.

“We are very pleased that Iain is stepping into the role of CCO. In a short time, he has demonstrated leadership, business acumen, and the ability to execute. These qualities will be critical for the company’s continued progress,” said Hedda Felin, CEO of Hurtigruten, in a statement. 

Hurtigruten says it is currently experiencing strong growth, backed by long-term and ambitious owners with high aspirations for the company’s continued development.
