Four Seasons Yachts appoints Kate McCue as captain of inaugural yacht
Four Seasons Yachts has named Kate McCue as the inaugural Captain of Four Seasons l, the first ultra-luxury yacht in its upcoming fleet.
A graduate of the California Maritime Academy, Captain Kate brings nearly three decades of maritime expertise. Most recently, “Captain Kate," as she is known, was widely known for her 22 years spent at Royal Caribbean Group, rising to fame when she became the Captain of the Celebrity Summit at 37 years old in 2015 (the first American female captain of a mega-ton cruise ship).
Throughout her time as a Celebrity, she gained notoriety online, amassing more than 4.6 million combined followers on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, where she offers a glimpse into the daily life of being a cruise ship Captain.
In 2022, Captain McCue took the helm of Celebrity Beyond, over time, she played a key role in increasing female representation on ship bridges to more than 30 per cent across Celebrity’s fleet.
She announced her departure from the brand this past February.

We are thrilled to welcome her aboard as we prepare to set sail in 2026, knowing she will inspire both our guests and employees alike.”

As Captain, she will be responsible for the safe navigation of Four Season’ Yacht, as well as the onboard experience for all guests and crew members – a 1:1 guest to staff ratio, ensuring a personalized journey from port to port.
From charting journeys throughout the Caribbean and Mediterranean to establishing a best-in-class onboard service culture, Captain Kate is eager to shape the journey ahead.

Captain Kate has also held numerous maritime positions, from cadet and deck officer to Master Mariner and Captain and has sailed with Disney Cruise Line.

Four Seasons Yachts will welcome its first guests aboard Four Seasons I in January 2026.
