The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) has given Porter Airlines a green light to operate flights to Brazil, Morocco, and Türkiye on a code-share basis.

The series of decisions, posted to the CTA’s website on February 20, builds on Porter’s joint venture with Air Transat, which currently serves the destinations.

As reported, the venture expands services between North, Central and South America, Europe, North Africa, Mexico and the Caribbean, integrating Porter and Air Transat’s non-overlapping networks at Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Montreal Trudeau (YUL) airports.

With new licences, Porter can now offer its code on Air Transat flights to Marrakech, Morocco’s largest city, as well as Agadir, a popular resort city in North Africa.

Air Transat began flying between Montreal (YUL) and Marrakech in 2024 and, as reported, will start Montreal–Agadir service on June 12, marking the first direct link between North America and Agadir.

Air Transat launched flights to Istanbul from Toronto Pearson in December 2025, with year-round service.

The service connects to Turkish Airlines' network through new codeshare and interline agreements, providing access to destinations across Türkiye, Asia and beyond.

Air Transat's new service to Rio de Janeiro, famed for its Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, also began earlier this month out of Toronto and Montreal.
