Lynx says customer refunds are costly and will hurt investors

Lynx Air has claimed in court filings that customer refunds have become an obstacle because of an uncooperative contractor and that they will end up hurting investors.

According to reporting from the Canadian Press, the budget carrier, which ceased operations and filed for creditor protection in late February, said the company contracted to handle bookings, Texas-based Sabre Corp., has “refused to assist” with reimbursements.

The airline then said in the court documents that its only choice was to work with its credit card processor to deal with refunds for travellers whose flights were cancelled.

Lynx also said the reimbursement process is costly, resulting in big fees that are ultimately “to the detriment” of investors in the airline hoping to recover some of their money.
