LATAM Airlines Group plans to introduce Premium Business suites with full flat seats on its upcoming Airbus A321XLR aircraft, becoming the first airline in South America to offer the product on a single-aisle plane.

The aircraft are expected to begin arriving in 2027 and will carry more than 170 passengers across Premium Business and Economy cabins.

The Premium Business cabin will feature a 1-1 layout with direct aisle access for all passengers, along with full flat seats and individual doors.

Economy will be configured in a 3-3 layout with the Recaro R3 seat.

LATAM said the aircraft will also include onboard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity and, for the first time on its single-aisle fleet, seatback entertainment screens.

"The Airbus A321XLR allows us to take our value proposition to the next level and elevate the travel experience for our passengers,"  said Paulo Miranda, chief experience and customer officer at LATAM Airlines Group.

"We are introducing a Premium Business cabin on single-aisle aircraft, with long-haul standards of comfort, connectivity and privacy, and a design inspired by South America. This allows us to offer more travel options, strengthen our network, and deliver a more consistent experience for our passengers."

LATAM has committed to more than 10 A321XLR aircraft, with deliveries set to begin in 2027.

The aircraft's extended range, more than 50 per cent greater than other A320neo family aircraft, is expected to support new routes and expand connectivity between South America and longer-haul destinations.

The announcement was made at Aircraft Interiors Expo, where LATAM also previewed the new cabin design developed in collaboration with PriestmanGoode.
