Iceland named most peaceful destination: report

Iceland has been named the world’s most peaceful country in a new study, giving the burgeoning destination another draw for potential travellers.

In its 2015 Global Peace Index, the Institute for Economics & Peace ranked the Scandinavian nation the most peaceful nation out of 162 countries worldwide. While Europe was deemed the most peaceful global region overall, Canada was ranked number seven, behind Finland and ahead of Japan; the U.S. was listed at 94. Syria took the bottom spot in this year’s survey.
