Flair launches Vancouver–Guanajuato route, first direct link to Mexico's Bajío region
Flair Airlines is adding a new nonstop route from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Guanajuato International Airport (BJX), marking the first direct connection between Canada and Mexico’s Bajío region.
The new service is set to launch October 3, with weekly flights and introductory fares starting at $189.
The route expands Flair’s international network and provides direct access to the Bajío region, known for its cultural and economic significance.
“Welcoming BJX into our network marks the first-ever direct connection between the Bajío region and Canada,” said Len Corrado, CEO of Flair Airlines.
“We’re making it easier for customers to discover this vibrant region with travel that is reliable, easy, and affordable, and built for memorable moments.”
Officials in Guanajuato said the new service is expected to support both tourism and business travel.
“We are very excited to launch this new connection between Vancouver, Canada, and the Bajío region. We are bringing more of Guanajuato to the world, a destination with a unique identity, rich cultural heritage, and a high-value tourism offering,” said Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, the governor of Guanajuato.
“This route not only makes new experiences more accessible but also helps strengthen the ties between our communities and create more opportunities for our people.”
“We are confident that this new connection will be highly successful and will contribute to both tourism and business travel. We extend a warm welcome to Flair Airlines to this airport, and to visitors from Vancouver, we reiterate that we are ready to receive you with the quality and warmth in service that distinguishes us,” added Paola Olivo Moreno, director of Guanajuato International Airport.
