Emirates to launch world's longest non-stop flight

Emirates will launch daily service from Dubai to Panama City on Feb. 1, marking the airline’s first gateway destination in Central America and the longest non-stop flight in the world.

The new service, clocked at 17 hours and 35 minutes, will be operated by a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft in a three-class layout - eight in First, 42 in Business, and 216 in Economy. Service to Panama City will operate through Tocumen International Airport (PTY).

According to a report by Bloomberg News, the route will eclipse the current record holder for world’s longest flight – Qantas’ Sydney-Dallas service – by approximately 17 km.
